About me

I was born and raised in the dry, hot desert of Las Vegas, Nevada. I did my BA in Linguistics at Pomona College, which is located at the very eastern edge of Los Angeles County. Since moving to the West Coast, I've marveled at how nice it is to live in a place where the trees grow on their own account and the sun isn't trying to kill you.

Outside of linguistics, I like to get involved with local community organizing projects wherever I live. My hobbies also include aerial and circus arts (aerial sling is my favorite apparatus, closely followed by lyra), hiking, tidepooling, cooking and baking, science- and speculative fiction, finally taking the piano lessons I skipped as a child, and borrowing friends' dogs.

And for the inquiring minds... "How many languages do you speak?": French, Spanish, and a valiant but failed attempt at Russian in college.
